OLIVIA & JASONWEDDING 2018
Olivia didn’t want a specific theme in the way of colors, icons or genre…but instead to evoke their love of those special magical moments and Harry Potter and Disney…so the inspiration was…magical moments…Those moments that surprise and delight and take your breath away!
Create your own wedding logo and hashtag! The logo should be personal and meaningful. In this case, Jason and Olivia had their first date at Disneyland. One of Olivia’s favorite things to do at Disneyland is to look for the ‘hidden Mickeys” In Jason and Olivia’s wedding logo… there is their initials.. O&J and a hidden mickey as well as a subtle nod to their love story.
not JUST A BAR NAPKIN
The journey to this day began with a proposal! We chose to share this moment in the wedding and in a way that related to the venue for the reception.. The Frist Art Museum. The photo of the proposal was converted to a line drawing and captured on custom bar napkins.
an AUGMENTED REALITY INVITATION
They wanted the invitation to surprise and delight and actually be magic in your hand. They also wanted to keep many moments of the wedding a surprise. Including the location! Using an augmented reality app and a great video team, we designed a simple invitation that was placed in a beautiful custom made acrylic frame, a keepsake for the invited guest. There was a tab that instructed the recipient to download the app and hover over the invitation to come trigger the video to come to life.

NOT YOUR ORDINARY PROGRAM
As a nod to Harry Potter and the fact that the ceremony was taking place in Union Station a former train station in Nashville and the ceremony was taking place on a train platform….as guests were escorted from the cocktail welcome reception in the main hall to the ceremony they were handed a ‘boarding pass’ Here the were also told that they needed to check their cell phones and were given a claim check.. It was important to Olivia and Jason to make sure guests were in the moment.
The program also detailed the ceremony, the participants, the wedding party and family. There was also a map of the entire wedding space so no one would get lost!
the UNITY CANDLE, 2018
The alternative to the traditional Unity Candle. Olivia really didn’t like the tradition of the Unity candle lit before the ceremony by the two families. She did like that it symbolized the joining together of the two families, but she felt that the two families were already there and it was obvious. What she did want was to recognize and bring to the ceremony in ‘spirit’ those on both sides of the family who had passed and were there in our hearts and memories.
To do this, we constructed a small table with photos of each of the immediate family members who had previously passed and a candle in front of each photo. Olivia’s mother, Lori stood up and as a guitarist played in the background softly, spoke briefly about each of those photos… for example.. Acknowledging Larry’s Dad, Olivia’s paternal grandfather “PAPO”, or her mother Pat, Olivia’s maternal grandmother ‘Granma” Then after all the candles were it, Lori lit one more that represented Olivia and Jason as those before them would light their way with love.
Then the guitarist sang the song “Remember Me” from the Disney movie “COCO”
